Cross-Cultural Training

The Need:
Latin America is waking up to its missionary call. Revival has swept the hemisphere to the extent that one of every four believers in the world is a Latin. Young churches are maturing and flexing their spiritual muscles. The moment of God has come for Latin Americans to respond to His call to the world.

Latin Americans make outstanding workers. Their physical appearance and lifestyle make it easy for them to integrate into other cultures. Their relational skills naturally open doors. The fact that they are not from the USA will be to their advantage as they apply for visas.

At this moment there are very few Latin workers on the field. There are even fewer training centers. The interdenominational center at El Monte hopes to address this need.

The Impact:
The cross-cultural training center at El Monte opened its doors in Sept. 2006 with three full-time staff and over thirty invited guest lecturers. We started the center with eight students who have a cross-cutural callings to Asia, Central Asia, North Africa, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. Our goal is to equip thirty-two students per year; our heart is to reach the world.

The Investment:
As we grow, we need more staff with a variety of backgrounds and expertise. We also need facilities. At present we project the need for three quadruplex apartment buildings, three classrooms, a resource center, a dining hall and student lounge, a chapel, administration building, recreation area, staff housing, and a maintenance shop.
